JERR Gives Allegra's Seduction: Immortality's Caress 1~ 4 stars & the big O

Genre: Romance/Vampire/ Series
ISBN: 1-55410-617-6
Reviewer: Aggie Tsirikas
Rating: 4/5 Stars
Heat level: O (orgasmic)

Allegra Montague, along with her two best friends Eloise and Sophia, are invited to the villa of Lord and Lady Lamberti for a weekend jaunt. Little do these ladies realize what they’re about to encounter before succumbing to the temptations around them. They will be challenged for Count del Fra’s affections so that this elder may select his bride, and in the process find themselves amongst a group of decadent vampires. Gabriele seems taken by Allegra’s seductive allure, but what of her equally delicious friends Eloise and Sophia?

Set in the lush and opulent 1592 Venice, Allegra’s Seduction is the first book in the Immortality’s Caress series by Ms. Martin that is well worth investing for a “meaty” and satisfying read. This 200 plus page story is rich in detail with aspects of intrigue, romance, and a whole lot of naughtiness that is sure to excite your senses with some really stirring sex scenes. There are some interesting aspects of Ms. Martin’s vampires, or rather kindred as they’re referred to. They have both strength and weaknesses making them compelling creatures. Gabriele, our 430 year old vampire is a romantic, thoughtful, forceful and compassionate man…and a right match for our heroine. Allegra seems unsure of herself at first, despite the fact that she’s a worldly woman of her times. The setting, story, characters and dialogue are well developed, and Ms. Martin’s research shines with facts interspersed throughout, lending an authentic feel to this book. Gabriele’s “maker”, Marcus, and his Queen Claudia also play an interesting role in this story. The length also allows the author to develop the main characters and set the scene for Eloise’s upcoming story without losing any momentum. Just be aware there are brief M/M, F/F, light bondage scenes, some graphic violence and ménage, but these don’t detract from the story.
